Marvell's Custom Compute and Storage (CCS) Technical Publications team is responsible for developing and publishing high-quality internal and customer-facing technical documentation for our semiconductor products and accompanying software, firmware, and intellectual property (IP).

Our mission is to make technical documentation a competitive advantage for CCS products.

What You Can Expect

We are seeking a Technical Writing Manager in the Custom Compute and Storage group. This role will both manage a team of technical writers and have direct technical writing responsibilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and managing the creation and delivery of high-quality technical documentation for our CCS products.

Responsibilities:

Manage the Technical Writing Team:Lead and mentor a team of technical writers to produce high-quality documentation of Marvell's CCS hardware, firmware, and security products.

Project Management:Manage documentation projects from inception to completion. This includes planning, scheduling, and tracking progress to ensure timely delivery.

Mentoring: Conduct ongoing professional and career development for writers of all experience levels.

Technical Writing:Create, develop, and maintain technical manuals, product specifications, how-to guides, FAQs, and other documentation.

Collaboration:Work closely with engineering, product management, and marketing teams to ensure documentation meets the needs of our customers and is delivered on schedule.

Documentation Strategy:Participate in the continuous improvement of our documentation strategy to ensure that it aligns with business unit and company objectives.

Quality Assurance:Support and enhance processes to ensure all documentation meets the highest standards of accuracy, clarity, and comprehensiveness.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, or a related field, or commensurate experience.

  • Proven experience as a technical writer in the semiconductor industry.

  • Experience managing a team of technical writers or managing large-scale documentation projects.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • The ability to understand complex technical concepts and make them understandable in text, graphics, equations, and tables.

  • Experience with Firmware and Software documentation and development processes.

  • Experience with industry-standard technical writing tools, such as Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Visio, and Oxygen XML Editor.

  • Experience with content management/revision control systems, such as git and SVN.

  • Experience with structured authoring, such as DITA XML.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours to interact with team members across the US and in India.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

127,300 - 188,370, $ per annum

The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
