Job Title: Facilities Manager

Department: Administrative Services

Reports To: Director, HR and Facilities

FLSA Status: E

DESCRIPTION:

The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and smooth operation of MC Machinery Systems' facilities. The position will oversee all aspects of facility maintenance, including day-to-day maintenance work, building upkeep such as cleaning, landscaping and snow removal for all company locations in multiple states, and adherence of safety protocols. Additionally, the Facilities Manager will lead our Safety Committee, ensuring compliance with company and OSHA standards.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor building functionalities on a daily basis, promptly addressing maintenance issues and coordinating repairs with vendors.
  • Manage facility leases, budget, paying invoices, forecasting and tracking expenses for each facility while identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality or safety of the facility.
  • Manage landscaping and snow removal, ensuring adherence to contractual agreements for all facilities with vendors.
  • Procure janitorial, office, and building supplies, ensuring the correct amounts are ordered in a correct timeline and quantities.
  • Create POs for necessary building maintenance and supplies.
  • Review contractor agreements for General Liability and Auto Insurance, ensuring comprehensive coverage for the company.
  • File claims for auto and general liability claims.
  • Manage company copier programs.
  • MC audit reports as requested
  • Manage documentation retention and storage requirements.
  • Manage MC Machinery's Safety Committee to uphold building and employee operations to company and OSHA standards and policies. Including forklift training.
  • Manage lease program and loaning system for company vehicle program. Including registrations, I-pass and repairs.
  • Manage facility property taxes, permits and business license.
  • Ensure building security and safety, including organizing fire drills and maintaining security systems.
  • Manage facility space usage, coordinating office reconfigurations, renovations, and expansions as needed, while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • In-depth of OSHA regulations on employee safety and building safety
  • Detailed oriented and ability to manage multiple priorities in a timely manner
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge
  • Comfortable working with minimum supervision and ability to work in a team
  • Possess strong negotiation skills and ability to manage budget and adhere to spending limits or requirements
  • Possess knowledge of standard building maintenance needs

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate Degree in Business, Engineering, Safety and Security or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years' work experience in building maintenance or related position preferred
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of CAD software, a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Job operates mainly indoors, but exposed to changing weather conditions, such as extreme hot or cold, rain, sun, wind, etc. This job also works near moving mechanical parts and the noise level is moderate to loud. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver's license is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This job requires very frequent bending at the waist, twisting of the upper body, standing, speaking and hearing and frequent kneeling. Repetitive use of the hands, squeezing, keyboarding and crouching. Requires frequent lifting and carrying of 1-10 pounds, recurrent lifting of 11-20 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of 21-50 or more pounds. Also requires constant pushing and pulling of 1-50 pounds and infrequent pushing and pulling of over 50 pounds with the aid of handcarts or other wheeled devices. Good visual and color acuity are a must to perform this job.
