Overview

Bermello Ajamil, a Woolpert Company (BA) has an immediate position available in its Orlando office for a full-time Architect & Project Manager (10+ years of experience) that is looking to join a creative, collaborative team of Architects, Engineers, Planners, Interior Designers, and Landscape Architects.

JOB OVERVIEW

Provide overall management direction for existing or new projects and supervise team members. Establish project budget, objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy. Initiate and maintain liaison with client and A/E contracts to facilitate construction activities. Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Construction Manager to ensure project is built on time and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures. Represent BA in project meetings and assist in strategy meetings, etc. Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect BA's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with client.

Responsibilities
    Direct project team, ensure client compliance with contract terms, and monitor sub-consultants' compliance with contractual commitments.
  • Meet with clients to direct project requirements and obtain all information to prepare project documents.
  • Has primary responsibility for scheduling, planning, design, specification, and working drawings on a given project with authority to direct, control, organize, interpret, and monitor all activities.
  • Prepare project work plan, schedule and budget, and communicate these to project team members; monitor/manage project production for compliance with schedule, budget and quality objectives.
  • Monitor reports and schedules to ensure appropriate charging of man-hours, costs and expenses to projects, and to communicate project progress/status to senior management.
  • Monitor sub-consultants' progress and performance; review and approve sub-consultant and vendor invoices.
  • Schedule and coordinate project meetings with the project team, regulatory agencies, the client, and others involved with the project
  • Coordinate and participate in project presentations to clients and other external groups, and promote firm's capabilities, marketing its services among existing and prospective clients
  • Supervise technical professionals and design staff.
Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Must have, at minimum, a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture; Master's Degree a plus
  • Must have Architectural or NCARB registration (preferably Florida, or the ability to obtain Florida registration quickly).
  • 10+ years of experience in Architectural project management
  • LEED accreditation preferred
  • Must be proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup 5+ years
  • Advanced-level competency in Microsoft Office Suite

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Ability to manage projects within established budgets
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead others by example
  • Proven ability to present to clients and assist in marketing interviews
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines and work independently and as part of a team
  • Available for limited travel, overtime, and weekend work as required to meet training and project requirements/deadlines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, graphic skills, and design ability
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus
