SUMMARY

First Interstate Bank is seeking a full cycle Intermediate Corporate Recruiter dedicated to client consultation, evaluation and fulfillment of hiring needs. The Corporate Recruiter is responsible for networking, attracting, and acquiring qualified and diverse candidates to meet the identified business needs. This role will continue to evolve in order to align with our organization and changes to the staffing industry. In support of the business, the Corporate Recruiter will be active in identifying industry trends and making suggestions to First Interstate's talent processes to ensure long-term success. This role will aid in the coordination of recruitment strategy across First Interstate's footprint.

This role is the first point of contact with prospective employees and represents the company in the community. This role is special in that you are both the recruiting coordinator and the recruiter. This means you manage data within the Application Tracking System (ATS) to receive and track candidates, conduct phone screens and interviews, and oversee pre-hire procedures leading to offer generation and communication with your counterparts to ensure effective onboarding of new hires.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Network with industry contacts, associations, trade groups and employees to develop a pipeline of qualified candidates in advance of need. This networking is to include candidates from diverse backgrounds including those with military experience and those with disabilities.
  • Will be the subject matter expert & point of reference in the use of the ATS and be responsible for configuration changes leading to a more efficient process; proactively seeks user feedback on the use of the ATS.
  • Assist in developing and delivering education and training on staffing and selection methodologies and techniques.
  • Collaborate with the hiring manager throughout the recruiting/hiring process to communicate & consult on recruitment/candidates status.
  • Manage recruitment process for entry level through senior level positions (internal and external).
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand their requirements and develop a sourcing strategy to identify the best talent, as well as manage the applicant flow, promote employee referrals, and most importantly, use your research skills to uncover hidden talent.
  • Proactively source qualified candidates through social media, job boards, referrals, industry contacts, manager and employee networks and associations.
  • The right candidate will be obsessive about candidate experience; ensure positive internal and external candidate experience throughout the process from initial communication to ensure that they walk away with a positive experience regardless of the outcome
  • Manage the existing pipeline of candidates and identify what future opportunities they may be a fit for. Recommend staffing procedures & processes for use within the Company.
  • Develops and implements talent acquisition strategies to meet immediate and long-term staffing needs. This will happen in partnership with internal teams to ensure First Interstate has an internal pipeline of candidates to fill vacancies throughout the organization
  • Develops and updates job postings and job specifications.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in job advertising to ensure visibility of First Interstate jobs to wide audiences within and outside of our direct footprint.

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year College or University and two (2) or more years' experience in Human Resources is required; preference will be given to an individual with previous Recruitment experience.

OTHER SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Computer skills essential, including Word and Excel and Outlook. Experience with PowerPoint beneficial. Requires initiative and solid judgement with oral/written communication skills including facilitation. Ability to prioritize work and remain adaptable under pressure. Able to travel as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
