Kearney & Company is currently seeking a Controller to join our team in our Alexandria, VA office.

Position Summary: Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will be a key contributor of the accounting, finance, and treasury functions. This professional will also work with compliance, pricing, and internal controls. Candidates with strong DoD contracting experience are required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with DCAA, GAAP, CAS, and Uniform Guidance financial regulations
  • Prepare Incurred Cost Submissions, Indirect Cost Rate budgets and other reports/documents for government (local, state and federal) regulatory agencies
  • Must have extensive experience reading and interpreting Government Contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and support DCMA, DCAA (or other cognizant agency) Audits
  • Generate monthly financial statements for executive leadership
  • Oversee some functions of finance team
  • Direct involvement of audited financial statements, and tax returns
  • Assist with monthly closing of the books to include reconciliation of all accounts (bank, payroll, credit cards, etc.), amortization of prepaid expenses, depreciation of fixed assets, posting all revenue and expenses, and other related as directed.
  • Monitor banking activities of the Corporation

Assist pricing team develop proposals for CPFF, T&M, and FFP contracts


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, finance and/or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in a growing small to mid-sized government contracting organization
  • Excellent leadership, written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience with DCAA regulations, timekeeping and expense reporting, accounting and financial analysis, and project management
  • In depth knowledge of GAAP, DCAA, FAR, DFARS and other applicable regulations
  • Personal computer operations, MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Expert in all Federal Government contract types
  • Defining problems, conducting research, collecting data, establishing facts, drawing valid conclusions, and formulating recommendations.
  • Delivering Financial information to company executives
  • Deltek or other govcon systems required.
  • Current/Active secret security clearance or higher.
