Job Summary:
The HR Student Employment Assistant will provide processing, customer
service, and compliance support for student workers and their supervisors by ensuring student workers are recruited, hired, and engaged in their work. The assistant will also serve as one of the initial points of contact for questions and support for student employment as well as the Division of Talent, Culture, and Human Resources as applicable. They will work with the HR Student
Employment and Talent Acquisition Coordinator to develop policies, procedures, handbooks, and training manuals to ensure effective and efficient operating standards within the student employment function. They may work on special projects for student employment, talent acquisition, or other functions within the Division of Talent, Culture, and Human Resources.

Expected to report to the Senior Manager, Employee Experience, Culture, and Deputy Title IX Coordinator. No direct reports or supervisory responsibilities are expected for this position.

Job Duties:

1. Coordinate and ensure completion of the processes and procedures required to recruit, hire, and retain engaged student employees at Bucknell University, providing support as one of the initial points of contact for student workers and their supervisors to ensure compliance, correct job classification and competitive pay structures, and an efficient and effective employment experience. Assist with drafting policies and procedures, student employment handbook, and website updates as applicable. Enter and close out information in HRIS as needed. Participate with executing on campus and online training, orientation, and onboarding sessions for student workers and their supervisors. Ensure efficient management of student employment and other front-office HR related inquiries (emails, calls, etc) while providing excellent customer service. Run and analyze data and reports related to the student employment function. Collaborate with others assigned to the student employment function to ensure strategic thinking and application, project completion and follow through, and positive customer service.

2. Assist with front-office support and other HR special project needs as directed by supervisor and the Division of Talent, Culture, and Human Resources.

Work Setting:

This is an on-campus, non-benefits eligible casual position, working approximately 25 hours per week.

Physical Requirements:

Extended periods of working on/at a computer will be required. Delivery of orientation/onboarding/training sessions and extensive communication with others in person and online will be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Professional Work Experience: One year or more of related office support, HR, student employment, or other relevant experience; Associate's degree in business/HR management/psychology or related field considered in lieu of experience.

Knowledge Areas and Skills:
- Experience with or exposure to talent acquisition processes, procedures, and related compliance needs
- Attention to detail with an agile mindset and approach to strategic thinking and delivery
- Strong organization and time management/prioritization skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills - interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation
- Ability to handle seasonal fluctuations in processing and inquiry volume
- Contributes to an inclusive workplace culture, creating and contributing to a sense of belonging
- Technical proficiency with or willingness to learn Google Suite, Workday HRIS, and Microsoft Office, as well as a willingness and ability to learn new technologies and tools related to the job functions and for website updating
- Provide support to develop, communicate, and administer policies and procedures
- Understanding of and ability to effectively communicate with others regarding Federal Work Study guidelines, FERPA, and other relevant compliance, employee relations, legal, and higher education specific laws and regulations
- Willingness to collaborate and build trust with a large number of stakeholders and functions, within the Division of Talent, Culture, and Human Resources and across the entire Bucknell University campus community
- Project and change management fluency
- Proactive planning and ability to balance appropriate sense of urgency and follow through for task deliverables and project needs

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Associate's degree or higher in business, HR management, or related field
Professional Work Experience: Two or more years of related HR, student employment support, talent acquisition, office management, student affairs, or similar experience.

Professional Certification or License: SHRM-CP or other related HR or student employment certifications

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE POSITION - While the primary functions of this position will fall under student employment support needs and deliverables, the position will also be expected, as needed, to provide general front-office support and contribute to other projects within the Division of Talent, Culture, and Human Resources as needed. Availability during peak
seasonal hiring times (i.e., start and end of semesters and key academic calendar times) will be required.

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
