Job Description

Steptoe LLP, a Washington, DC-based Am Law 100 law firm, is seeking a Paralegal, to be based in the firm's Complex Litigation Support Center in Rockville, Maryland. The Paralegal will assist attorneys with complex civil litigation document and workflow procedures.


Responsibilities

  • Review documents in a custom-built database in order to extract information and input the same into the database
  • Maintain measured workflow expectations
  • Serve as backup receptionist when necessary. Coordinate reception coverage
  • May be responsible for preparing travel and check request documents
  • May be responsible for updating various Steptoe office lists and logs
  • May be responsible for keeping all vendor information up to date
  • May be responsible for coding and sending all A/P invoices to DC office for payment
  • May assist Administrative Attorney with maintenance of all administrative files
  • May assist with keeping inventory and orders all office forms (taxi vouchers, messenger and overnight delivery - UPS, Federal Express, and Overnight Express)
  • May assist with coding and sending all A/P invoices to DC office for payment
  • Assists Administrative Attorney with maintenance of all administrative files
  • May Learn MMSEA filing req, executive quarterly filing, and update database Medicare fields as needed
  • Research and resolve issues with invoicing
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Work Environment

  • Non-smoking environment
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines and in stressful situations
  • Available to work in the office 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday through Friday
