ERG is seeking an Acquisition Specialist with mid- to senior-level experience to assist with facilities projects for a Department of Defense (DoD) client. In this role you will perform need identification, market research, and active sourcing of equipment and other supplies. The position is based out of a federal site in Indian Head, Maryland. The ideal candidate has DoD acquisition experience, and must be motivated with the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

This position will be full-time at the federal site in Indian Head, MD, and will include interaction and support from ERG personnel at the federal site, as well as from ERG's Chantilly and Arlington offices. Indian Head is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC, 25 miles from Alexandria, VA, and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, VA. Alternative work schedules may be considered.
Job Description:
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders at all levels and across all departments to identify acquisition needs
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and vendors
  • Evaluate product offerings, pricing, and delivery timelines
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Engage with vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships
  • Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and DoD policies
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines
  • Provide timely updates on procurement status and potential risks
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address any contractual issues
  • Document business requirements and translate them to acquisition plans
  • Support the development of acquisition plans, statements of work, and approval documentation
  • Conduct source selection and technical evaluations of different vendors and products
  • Be comfortable and diligent in the safe handling and storage of sensitive documents
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in federal acquisition, preferably within the DoD
  • Ability to take a leadership role and deal with ambiguity effectively
  • Strong knowledge of FAR and other relevant regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with data analysis and Microsoft PowerPoint to develop presentation materials
  • Effective communication skills, including business case validations and presentations for leadership
