Job Description

Job Purpose

This position will be responsible for servicing customers and supporting other client account managers in a professional manner. Will be responsible for retention, account rounding and full service of Commercial Property and Casualty insurance clients. This includes checking policies, issuing certificates of insurance and reporting of initial claims to carriers. Will handle some smaller accounts without an assigned producer, requiring a broad understanding of company underwriting systems and products.

Job Duties

  • Will gather detailed underwriting information for marketing renewals
  • Responsible for researching and selecting potential carriers to obtain the best coverage for the client.
  • Negotiate premiums and better coverage options with company underwriters.
  • Monitor outstanding quotes and applications for new business and renewals.
  • Responsible for making independent decisions on coverage.
  • Assist producers with policy presentations as requested.
  • Effective cross selling when an opportunity arises.
  • Educate clients on company and agency payment plans & cancellation procedures.
  • Submit claims, request and review endorsements and audits for accuracy.
  • Will perform special projects as assigned.

Education, Experience and Job Skills

  • Associates degree, or equivalent experience required.
  • P&C Licensed Agents preferred, but P&C License must be obtained within first 60 days of employment.
  • Minimum 5 years of insurance experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of customer service experience required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office products.
  • Insurance designations are preferred and pursuing or agree to pursue additional designations approved by the agency within the first two years (CISR, CIC ,etc.).

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of insurance experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of customer service experienced required.
