Summary: The Creative Services Production Assistant creates digital and print materials to support the goals of the Missouri Botanical Garden's marketing team and its internal collaborators. This position will be responsible for submitting graphics, fonts, layouts, and other creative choices to internal decision makers for approval. Other responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, retouching digital images, proofing artwork before publication, and archiving work in the Garden's system. Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite is required. Applicants must submit a portfolio of graphic design work as part of the application process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Creates digital and print artwork based on project concepts while adhering to established brand standards and styles.

* Researches and sources appropriate photos for signage, flyers, digital ads, social media ads, etc..

* Edits graphics and retouches digital images, in compliance with Garden standards, for a variety of media including print, web, email, social media and digital advertising.

* Proofs files before printing for accuracy, proper formatting, brand and style requirements.

* Prints and prepares signage and other printed media.

* Organizes and archives digital and print files in the Marketing & Communications file library for future reference.

* Collaborates with creative services team to understand and adhere to project requirements.

* Meets expected attendance guidelines.

* Follows and adheres to established policies and procedures, including but not limited to Employee Handbook, Garden Safety Guidelines and Department Policies.

* Behaves and communicates in a manner that promotes and fosters a culture of teamwork and cooperation, within our division and throughout the Garden, with co-workers, supervisors/managers, volunteers, visitors, and employees.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* 1-2 years' experience working on a variety of graphic design assignments.

* Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet aggressive deadlines.

* Ability to work collaboratively with internal team members and external organizations to complete various projects.

* Scheduling flexibility in a hybrid working environment.

* Must demonstrate highest level of professional and ethical conduct; maintain confidentiality; and possess the ability to remain calm and in control throughout all phases of the design and production process.

* Must be a self-starter, creative, flexible, and possess the ability to effectively multi-task.

* Some local travel to off-site meetings is required.

Education:

* Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field is preferred.

* An equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience may be considered.

Language Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral/written).

Mathematical Skills:

* Proficient mathematical abilities required.

* Ability to understand, analyze and create budgets.

Reasoning Ability:

* Ability to exercise independent and sound judgment in the observation, analysis and resolution of issues.

Computer Skills:

* Proficient experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and/or Google Workspace preferred.

* Solid Internet research skills a must.

* Fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).

Physical Demands:

* Manual dexterity to operate computer or make manual sketches and drawings as required.

* Visual acuity (with correction) sufficient to make artistic judgments about layout and design.

* Ability to utilize computer keyboard (typing).

* Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds.

* May be required to perform tasks at varying heights (i.e., climb step stools, ladders, etc.).

* Frequent standing, reaching and bending - 50% or more of the workday, at times, may be spent standing on feet or sitting.

* Principally operates standard office equipment to include computers, copiers, files, fax machines

Work Environment:

* Indoor office setting, shared by multiple staff; noise level is usually moderate.

* Standard business casual attire required.
