SUMMARY
Responsible for reporting all first notice of claims in accordance with client, carrier, and company guidelines, statutory regulations, and best practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Reports all new losses on all lines of coverage to the applicable insurance carrier(s);
* Maintains diaries on each open claim;
* Logs incoming legal bills and insures all bills have been processed;
* Processes vouchers for payments of legal bills and claim settlements;
* Maintains updated carrier claim reporting information in the system;
* Reviews coverage as it applies to specific claims;
* Identifies all applicable insurance that may provide coverage;
* Enters claims data and runs standard reports as requested;
* Follows up on claims as required;
* Provides loss run information as requested by clients or staff;
* Assist Claims Unit staff with backlog;
* Escalates difficult claim issues to the Claims Unit Manager;
* Assists department management with requests or projects as needed;
* Attends off-site client meetings as needed;
* Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information);
* Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Two (2) or more years related experience, brokerage or insurance carrier claims experience preferred
SKILLS
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good customer services skills, including telephone and listening skills
Good problem solving and time management skills
Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork
Ability to prioritize work for multiple projects and deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Intermediate typing skills (30-35 WPM)
