Kansas Children's Service League is looking to hire a full-time Marketing & Design Specialist in Wichita, KS. This position earns a competitive wage starting at $20 per hour and works a Monday - Friday schedule with occasional evenings and weekends.

JOB SUMMARY

The Marketing and Design Specialist will utilize skills in campaign planning, digital marketing, and content creation to enhance KCSL's brand awareness among key target audiences. This position supports KCSL's strategic priorities in child abuse prevention messaging and design across channels including social media, marketing materials, email marketing, advertising, website, success stories and more.

The Marketing and Design Specialist will work with KCSL's Marketing Team to implement graphic design and content for ads, social media, marketing materials, media relations as well as assist with special events and other projects that promote the agency. This position must understand how to communicate with the public via social platforms to increase awareness while maintaining the agency's brand and reputation; strategize, create and track campaigns to build awareness; and create written content and graphics for print materials including brochures, flyers and projects that promote agency mission and prevention messaging.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Online & Graphic Development
    • Design compelling print and online marketing materials in line with KCSL branding.
    • Create graphics and develop content for social media, website, and events.
    • Assist with campaigns including content development; regular updates; design integrity.
  • Publications / Marketing Materials
    • Write and publish news releases and agency information for print and website.
    • Assist with development and implementation of KCSL's regional and statewide marketing plans.
    • Work with outside vendors to develop print and multi-media marketing materials including stationery, brochures, videos, commercials/PSAs, print/digital ads, billboards, etc.
  • Special Events and Other Projects
    • Assists development staff with the League's Red Stocking Breakfast events including development of event materials and publicity.
  • Media Relations
    • Supports Marketing & Communications Director in identifying, cultivating and maintaining close relations with statewide and selected national media.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related area.
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience in Graphic Design, Marketing, Advertising or Public Relations.
  • Competent in design, content creation, strategic planning, social media messaging/analytics, internal and external communications.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in AP style.
  • Working knowledge of design software including Adobe Creative Suite (CC).
  • Working knowledge Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress and content management systems.

Preferred

  • 3+ years of successful experience in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Communications.
  • Experience with a non-profit organization, social welfare agency or child abuse prevention group.
  • Programming knowledge: HTML.
