2nd Shift Position

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and may be substituted by experience.

Personal Characteristics:

Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/ quantity. Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Have strong sense of urgency. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.

Work Experience:

Minimum of 1 year experience in a shipping & receiving environment. Must be qualified and certified to operate a fork lift truck (training provided). Clerical/Computer ability required.

Principal Area of Responsibility:

The Shipping Dock Clerk must be able to prepare/receive shipments to outside services vendors with accuracy and speed, verifying counts and preparing all necessary shipping documents. Load and unload company, vendor and common carrier vehicles using forklifts and hand lift jack.

Specific Duties:

  • Incumbent must handle hazardous waste in accordance with the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and company policy.
  • Load and unload outside vendor shipments.
  • Prepare all proper documentation using internal computer lot control system
  • Prepare final customer shipments including weighing, quantity verification, banding and loading on to common carrier trucks.
  • Meet the specific requirements of the efficiency standard as established by supervision.
  • Maintain good housekeeping with dock, storage areas and equipment use.
  • Perform maintenance checklist on fork lift daily.
  • Receive UPS, FEDX and other daily deliveries and deliver to the supply crib or other designated storage area.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and with minimal supervision. Self starter a must.
  • Basic Computer skills required.
  • Support the Supply Crib, when needed.
  • Observes all safety rules, practices, policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as specified by the supervisor.

  • Incumbent must physically and mentally perform the job demands as listed below.
  • The ability to handle high stress associated with high activity with tight deadlines.
  • Work environment includes a variety of climate conditions from pleasant to extreme depending on season
