Job Description
Our client, the world's leading search engine and technology company, is seeking a UX/Visual Designer. This is an 8 month + contract hybrid remote position located in San Francisco, CA.

Summary:
  • Our Consumer Shopping team focuses on user needs at that moment when shoppers start or continue their shopping journey.
  • Think about the last time that you were serendipitously motivated to start shopping perhaps you saw someone on the subway wearing an awesome pair of sneakers or you were reminded that you needed plant food while you were watching a video.
  • Our vision is to support and inspire users to start and resume their shopping journeys on their favorite client surfaces.
Responsibilities:
  • This senior role will help shape the design and future of shopping by shining a light on user behavior, needs, and opportunities.
  • Research projects range from foundational to evaluative studies.
  • Design/conduct studies based on a solid understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
  • Partner with cross-functional team members and other UX Researchers as you plan and execute your studies, ensuring your research aligns with top priorities.
  • Articulate key insights through clear and comprehensive written reports, compelling visuals, frameworks, decks, and documentary style video clips.
  • Present findings to a diverse audience, including senior leaders.
Requirements:
  • Portfolio: Must share a portfolio demonstrating strong breadth and depth of UX Research experience, including qualitative foundational research (e.g., diary studies, ethnographic studies) and quantitative research (e.g., surveys).
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a research-focused field and/or sufficient experience to demonstrate qualifications for the responsibilities above.
  • 5+ years industry experience conducting user research in a professional context and has worked directly with users (e.g., lab studies, field studies, surveys, competitive analyses) and cross-functional partners (e.g., PMs, engineers, data science, marketing).
  • Extensive experience running a variety of UXR methodologies (e.g., diary studies, ethnographic studies, surveys, usability studies).
  • They must have owned the entire UXR process independently (from defining research questions to presenting to stakeholders).
  • Very strong writing skills (comfortable articulating insights in a document).
  • Experience working within a product development cycle with PMs, engineers, marketing, data science.
  • Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
Desired:
  • Expertise in quantitative UXR. At a minimum, they must have experience writing and analyzing a survey.
  • Bonus if they are familiar with max-diff and other more technical quant UXR skills.
Pay rate range: $60.52 - $72.34 hourly.
