Job Responsibilities:
The Manager, Advanced Dental Education provides the primary staff support for five (5) advanced dental education disciplines (dental public health, oral and maxillofacial pathology, oral and maxillofacial radiology, pediatric dentistry, and prosthodontics) including: 1) developing policy reports and completing post-meeting follow-up; 2) preparing accreditation site visit reports and correspondence, monitoring and processing accreditation applications and program reports, and providing related responses and general correspondence; 3) maintaining current, accurate accreditation documents, templates and files, ensuring electronic records are up to date, and public information is available on the Commission's website; 4) overseeing site visits in the assigned disciplines; 5) formulating and implementing polices related to dental education; 6) utilizing research and Commission policy to make appropriate decisions; 7) serving as staff secretary for the five review committees and other committees as assigned; 8) serving as a liaison and resource to other agencies; 9) providing continuity and consistency in understanding, interpreting and applying Commission policies and standards necessary to act as a resource for programs, site visitors and Commission volunteers; and 10) maintaining site visitor documents, and developing and providing training and information to Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) volunteers. This position staffs several accreditation site visits each year and writes site visit reports. This position also supervises the two (2) site visit coordinators who coordinate all CODA site visits and assign site visitors for approximately 270 site evaluation visits conducted annually for the Commission's accreditation program. Additionally, this position works with the other managers to plan and coordinate site visitor training and provides consultation to programs preparing for their site visits. The Manager is required to be trained annually in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance policies and procedures.
