Job Description

Job Summary

The Grease Processor is responsible for any aspect of processing our raw material into a finished product. This will include evaluation of any process problems in addition to performing product quality testing.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Oversees grease processing from raw material trucks and trailers to finished goods storage.
  • Maintains inventory to insure efficient use of process tanks.
  • Maintains grease storage containers including cleaning and painting.
  • Monitor cooking temperatures to ensure control points are reached.
  • Control flow of material from process tanks and finished goods storage to load out.
  • Perform periodic preventative maintenance on all equipment in process.
  • Monitor machinery; bring all problems to attention of manager.
  • Assures equipment and work area is clean after each shift.
  • Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) year prior experience preferably in a rendering facility or production environment.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting; skilled in general mechanics and safe operation of equipment preferred.
  • Basic math skills preferred.
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Good oral and written skills preferred.
  • Ability to deal with minor problems involving equipment or various situations.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Frequently must push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
  • Operates forklift, bobcat, man lifts and any other equipment necessary.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet and/or slippery floors, and high heat and/or cold temperatures.
