Nidec Americas Holding Corporation (NAHC), located in St. Louis, Missouri, is the regional HQ, supporting most of the Nidec businesses in the Americas (both North and South), by providing Shared Service support functions, such as Legal, Information Technology, Human Resources, Tax, Treasury, Accounting and Internal Audit. Nidec businesses in the Americas manufacture, distribute and sell electric motors, control drives and related parts, services and solutions for a variety of industries, such as commercial / residential, industrial, appliance, elevator and automotive industries.

As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will work with audit team and internal clients to conduct professional and thorough audits to identify key areas of opportunities for improved business performance. Job Description

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading in all aspects of an audit, from the planning, fieldwork, reporting and follow-up phases.
  • Assessing the risk and developing scope and objectives of an audit. Tailoring an audit program to address the objectives.
  • Identifying key controls, assessing the adequacy of control design and determining whether the control is operating effectively. Determining if compensating controls exist and whether these mitigate any residual risk.
  • Developing and performing standard audit program procedures, which include obtaining a thorough understanding of processes and related controls, identifying risks, gathering data, sampling, testing, reviewing and analyzing evidence and documenting results in workpapers.
  • Being able to identify issues with company's financial statements and to provide the correct accounting treatment for the identified issues (and being able to research the related guidance (I.e. US GAAP, IFRS) when/where applicable).
  • Communicating and summarizing audit findings, recommendations and remediation plans to Internal Audit Stakeholders and members of Management.
  • Preparing clear, concise, written communications for internal and external personnel ranging from memos to formal audit reports, effectively conveying the results of assigned projects. Point out areas of potential improvements by providing value-added recommendations.
  • Serve as a resource in the implementation of recommendations and corrective actions.
  • Evaluating any plans or actions taken to correct audit deficiencies and ensure risk is adequately mitigated.
  • Research, interpret, apply understanding, and determine impact of Company Polices & Procedures (CP&Ps) and / or Accounting pronouncements to the Company (e.g. Revenue Recognition or IFRS). Assisting external auditors with quarterly and / or year end testing.
  • Maintaining an understanding of the Company's industry, technical knowledge, and professional skepticism to best identify financial risks.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • At least a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or CPA with a related degree.
  • CPA, CISA, CIA, CFE, MBA, or Master's in Accounting highly desirable, but not required.
  • Minimum 3+ years of internal or external audit experience required.
  • Big 4 or equivalent public accounting experience preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, SOX and audit concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including listening skills and skill in presenting findings and recommendations. Ability to communicate with various departments and level of personnel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail and organization.
  • IT Risk Assurance auditing experience is advantageous, but not required
  • Knowledge of Data Analytics is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience in Oracle, SAP, AX, JD Edwards, and / or Fourth Shift is a plus.
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Italian or Japanese) skills are helpful, but not necessary.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the year. International travel is a possibility.
  • Assertive, diligent and proactive individual who has the ability to work independently.
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Must be able to organize, prioritize, manage and complete multiple concurrent tasks within established time constraints. Works well under pressure, meeting objectives and deadlines consistently.
