BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The Financial Analysis Accountant will work under direct supervision to calculate and post monthly accruals for Operating Expenses and Capital Expenditures for Devon's business segments, and provide analysis of internal financial reports to Business Unit and Accounting leadership. The accountant also performs various other tasks including coding reviews, preparing manual journal entries, performing account reconciliations, supporting process and system optimization efforts, and providing customer service to accounting and operations teams as needed.

EDUCATION
* Bachelor's degree required - Accounting/Finance preferred

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
* 3+ years Oil and Gas Accounting experience preferred

* Advanced Microsoft Office365 skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and Teams
* Process automation and optimization experience preferred
* Experience using data analysis and/or automation software tools & techniques preferred (i.e. Power BI, Power Automate, UiPath, Alteryx, FME)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Leverage understanding of the principles, theories and concepts of oil and gas accounting and apply them to assignments such as preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation and analysis of financial data

* Calculate and record monthly accruals for Operating Expenses and Capital Expenditures
* Present monthly Financial Results to Accounting Management
* Provide accounting guidance and expenditures analysis to operations and accounting teams

* Provides support to other team members on complex tasks and projects
* Collaborate with other team members in identifying, developing, and implementing process optimization and best practices
* Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to improve overall business performance

* Other duties as assigned
