As Technical Account Executive, you will work directly with Econolite customers in your assigned territory to map their transportation objectives to Econolite solutions. Your primary role will be to position, propose, close, and support delivery of our best-in-class mobility solutions, resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty. The successful Technical Account Executive will become a trusted advisor to customers regarding applications of Econolite's ITS technologies. The Technical Account Executive will necessarily need to work collaborative within the Econolite team structure and must be able to clearly communicate customer requirements to Econolite technical departments, such as Product Management and Engineering.

DUTIES

  • Serve as the relationship manager and technical point-of-contact for Econolite accounts in assigned territory.
  • Advises sales management on market conditions, product needs, and competitor activities in assigned territory
  • Supports regional or national trade association events as required
  • Provides Level 1 technical support to customers in assigned territory
  • Provides Level 1 product technical training to customers, including product operation, features, installation, and troubleshooting
  • If necessary and appropriate, escalate customer technical issues to L2 Engineering per company process
  • Reads and interprets technical manuals, documents, and intersection plans, including timing sheets.
  • Conducts field review and approval of qualification cabinet designs; recommends changes to engineering
  • Responsible for achievement of Econolite annual sales goals in assigned territory.
  • Provides weekly sales forecast to sales management via CRM system
  • Review RFPs, RFIs and other requests for information pursuant to customer projects
  • Generate, present, and close on price proposals in conformance with Econolite pricing policies.
  • Analyze plans and schematics for the purpose of making recommendations and proposals.
  • Review technical specifications and proposals to ensure system compliance prior to bids.
  • Maintains customer records in CRM system
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering preferred OR equivalent experience in traffic operations, Engineering or Account Management role.
  • 5 years plus experience in technical, technical sales, sales engineering, or account management
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed business targets
  • Ability to overcome objections
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment or independently.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the traffic industry is preferred.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) certification is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of fundamentals of electrical power systems
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting electrical drawings
  • Ability to problem solve in standardized situations with few concrete variables.
  • Computer literate in the following software: Excel, MS Word, Windows or Mac OS X.
  • IMSA certification level 2 strongly preferred or within six months of hire.
  • Ability to travel on average 50% of the time, mostly within territory.
