**This position can be based in either Gilbert, AZ or Orlando, FL**

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Contracts Manager at Phoenix Defense will lead prime contract management and oversee the activities of the Subcontracts Specialist/Manager at the corporate level. This pivotal role ensures compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), maintaining the highest standards of contract administration. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Contracts Manager will centrally manage all prime and subcontract activities within the Government Contracting (GovCon) industry, ensuring effective coordination across the Manufacturing and Engineering Services Divisions.

  • Lead and oversee the management of prime contracts, ensuring compliance with FAR and DFAR.
  • Oversee procurement, subcontractor, and vendor acquisition activities.
  • Develop and implement procurement policies, ensuring standardized processes across multiple divisions.
  • Create and execute strategic procurement policies to improve vendor costs.
  • Collaborate with program managers and customer contract representatives to manage prime contracts effectively.
  • Support proposal activities by providing expertise in contract and subcontract development.
  • Monitor and manage contracts and subcontracts to ensure compliance with federal regulations and company policies, ensuring all contract activities are compliant.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key subcontractors and stakeholders.
  • Align contract management strategies with business objectives and internal stakeholders' needs.
  • Participate in negotiations with subcontractors to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies for all contract-related activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in contract management processes to enhance efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes affecting contract management.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline required.
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in contract management within the aerospace and GovCon industries.
  • Working knowledge of FARs and DFARs.
  • Proven ability to work effectively at an executive level and collaborate with senior leadership teams.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including developing and interpreting complex pricing models.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, primarily between Phoenix, AZ, and Orlando, FL.
