What You'll Do

The Performance Support Lead is responsible for driving a performance improvement culture in alignment with the Performance Excellence vision & mission - leveraging subject matter expertise to successfully execute Change Management, Continuous Improvement (CI), Human and Organizational Performance Improvement, and Lessons Learned/Operating Experiences programs.

  • Demonstrates advanced leadership, facilitation, critical thinking and communication skills to effect cultural changes at the employee, project, program and executive levels.
  • Develops strategies & plans and leads strategic and tactical integrated efforts across a broad and diverse set of customers, stakeholders, and organizations.
  • Objectively evaluates programs/processes and provides recommendations to internal programs and all customers in guiding organization strategies.
  • Develops and executes operating and maturity plans for assigned programs.
  • Uses effective work management skills to control progress, from conceptual stages through planning and execution.
  • Provides subject matter expertise (SME) consult and service to customers and stakeholders, including trending, field observations, training and coaching behaviors, and leading community of practice.
  • Manages and leads the Change Management program to facilitate change adoption to business processes and systems.
  • Manages and leads the Lessons Learned program ensuring compliance with DOE and contractual requirements.
  • Manages and leads the HPI program to promote high levels of performance excellence and reliability
  • Manages and executes training deliveries for Change Management, Continuous Improvement and HPI, including administering courses in LMS, delivering classes internal and external to Performance Improvement.
  • Produces and coordinates with Communications to release Performance Improvement features (newsletters, articles, videos, presentations)
  • Manages and executes the Enhanced Mission Delivery Initiative program, including reports and celebration events.
  • Develops and leads employee reinforcement program to recognize improvement efforts in a creative manner.
  • Maintains and manages the Continuous Improvement Project Repository (CIPitory) in SharePoint and associated Tableau dashboard.
  • Manages the CI Leads program and supports CI Leads' customers.
  • Participates, serves and benchmarks industry and NSE working groups as the program SME to share best practices, identify improvement opportunities, encourage dialogue and continuous learning, and spark new ideas.
  • Supports the Disciplined Operations program.
  • Leads continuous improvement projects.

Minimum Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • OR a Master's degree a minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • OR Thirteen or moreor more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
  • Must have knowledge of and demonstrated experience using continuous improvement concepts and tools.
  • Must have demonstrated success in coordinating and executing events, projects, and/or actions of team members at varying levels in the organization.
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Job Requirements
  • HPI Practitioner training
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • PROSCI change management certification
  • PMP certification
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with relevant software programs (e.g., MS Office, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Tableau).
  • Must possess self-motivation, with the ability to work autonomously based on high level instructions from management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and make data informed recommendation and decisions.
  • Must have a collaborative work style with high interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with, and effectively communicate with peers, senior leaders, and team members at all levels in the organization.
  • Must have strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and follow through across a broad band of activities and logistics.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
