Serves as an auditor, analyst and accountant for HR related compensation and benefit areas which includes, but is not limited to, payroll, company labor, bonus, long-term incentive compensation, HR general and administrative budgeting, and benefit related programs.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Prepares internal analysis and reports, budget forecasts, budget planning, ad-hoc reporting and other analytical requests
Reviews and reports to management monthly variances and reasons for variances in general and administrative HR costs
Standardizes monthly reporting and creates forecasts of performance of total reward accounts
Supports third-party working interest owner company labor audits by preparing supporting documentation requested
Examines and analyzes HR's accounting records,and financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards reconciling differences on a monthly basis
Identifies trends, problem solves and implements resolutions using data extracted from financial accounting system (SAP) and human resource recordkeeping system (Workday)
Supports Total Rewards projects and initiatives with data analysis, insight generation, and recommendations that improve decisions
Analyzes Total Rewards policies, programs, and procedures to identify gaps and areas for improvement
Prepares presentations and reports for management, providing detailed analysis of conclusions
Performs financial modeling to analyze the costs of the various compensation and benefit programs
Collects and analyzes Total Rewards data, translating data into appropriate metrics
Builds reports and participates in the design of Total Rewards dashboards
Responds to ad hoc data and report requests
Maintains employee confidence and corporate assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed
Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Six (6) years minimum accounting, auditing or financial analysis experience, preferably in oil and gas
Public Accounting experience preferred
Demonstrate superior communication and presentation capabilities, adept at simplifying complex data insights for audiences without a technical background
Identifies appropriate metrics to assess initiatives and explains the rationale behind the collection and use of metrics
Leverages existing tools to meet organizational needs
Draws insightful conclusions, identifies trends, and recognizes patterns through data analysis/collection
Connects insights generated from multiple data points to provide insightful recommendations
Demonstrates broad knowledge of information sources that can be used to assess problems and make decisions
Garners insight from abstract data and makes appropriate decisions
Ability to identify and analyze accounting and compensation questions and develop solutions responsive to those questions.
Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, other departments, and officials
Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
Required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
Preferred: SAP, Workday, Power BI
Education Requirements:
Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field
Certifications:
Perferred: CPA
