Job Description
Position Title: Welder

Wage: $20-$22.75/hour

Shift: 1st, 2nd

Hours: 5am-3pm, 3pm-1am

Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Receive instructions, prints, and work orders for each job; plan details of working procedure, tools, and material requirements
- Perform basic welds involving varying degrees of precision and control
- Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded; set up, assemble, and tack weld parts
- Use hoists, mechanical drawings, and fabrication equipment
- Perform work in adherence with quality standards
- Practice safe work habits, following safety guidelines with respect to operation and personal safety gear, and support company safety initiatives
- Housekeeping
- Ensure and observe all safety and housekeeping rules and guidelines, including proper machine guarding and lockout/tagout procedures
- Maintain a clean safe work area
- Set up, adjust, and operate Robot Welder
- Read and interpret blueprint specifications to determine procedures, verify programs and tooling
- Perform complex machine set ups and critical operations
- Use a variety of precision measuring devices to set up and adjust work and verify conformance of work to specifications
- Understand special material handling required for materials and equipment used in the work cell
- Repair/correction of errors
- Participation in training sessions

Welder Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of welding experience
- Working towards apprenticeship or certification
- Basic welding experience and/or training
- Basic knowledge of MIG welding equipment
- Successful completion of weld test
- Understanding of welding fundamentals
- Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and machine specifications
- Intermediate mechanical aptitude, ability to understand complex issues and systematically work toward resolution
- Experience with inventory control methods preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills
- Ability to read diagrams/prints/weld symbols
- Ability to use a forklift, achieve forklift certification preferred
- Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane and forklift
- Lift up to 50lbs
- Regularly stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
