The estimated base salary range for this role is "$80,000 to $110,000" per year.
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors (salary may be adjusted based on geographic location)

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Planner oversees all aspects of production planning to ensure all customer demand is level-loaded into the ERP system according to agreed-upon schedule between Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations.

What you'll do

  • Enters, updates, and maintains relevant standard product information pertaining to customers and projects.
  • Schedulesand revisesorders when necessary to respond to rush order priorities, material shortages or vendor issues.
  • Communicates any changes in supply or demand to all parties, and schedule manufacturing to meet demands.
  • Maintains a cooperative working relationship with Sales and Production Departments.
  • Aligns with supply, demand, and plant capacity with financial long-range plans.
  • Utilizes capacity analysis toolstoensure actual personnel and equipment is allocated according to forward-looking capacity plans.
  • Works with Production Supervisors to determine ERP work progress matches actual progress, to determine progress of work and to provide information on changes in processing methods received from the Design Services Department.
  • Leads the creation of recovery schedules in the event of schedule slips.
  • Answers ERP exceptions messages.
  • Continuously implements process improvement/lessons learned changes; participates in continuous improvement(Kaizen) events.
  • Provides timely communication on planning, capacity, and schedule status to all key stake holders.
  • Leads production planning process; coordinates with other teams to ensure manufacturing capacity and material availability in support of current and forecasted demand.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct reporting responsibility for the following:
    • Logistics Analyst (Planners) - 2
    • Production Control Coordinator -1

  • Must be able to provide, understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral, or scheduled.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field OR 5 years of Planning/ Manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree
  • 2+ years Syteline ERP experience or 5+ years enterprise ERP experience

What will make you stand out

  • 5+ years scheduling/production control experience in a moderate to high volume make-to-order manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish/ English speaker

  1. Office Environment - This position operates in a professional office environment and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. No PPE is required.
  2. Plant Environment - This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions. Required PPE includes hard hat (when required), safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and fall protection.
