Job Overview

The Groundskeeper maintains hospital campus grounds and maintains the aesthetic appearance, presentation, and safety on a year round basis. The Groundskeeper may also perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipmentused in grounds-keeping activities.

Qualifications
  • EDUCATION - High school diploma or equivalent.
  • EXPERIENCE - 1 year related experience, including basic knowledge of irrigation systems
  • LICENSURE - Must possess a valid driver's license that meets the criteria of Children's Hospital Colorado

Responsibilities

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE

No direct patient care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains grounds by cleaning garages, parking lots, sidewalks, driveways, and patios. Removes dirt, sand, rubbish, leaves, and debris. Cleans outside elevators including elevator doors, walls, floors, ceilings, and control panels.
  • Operates tools in accordance with safety policies and operation practices. Maintains and repairs golf carts, light utility vehicles, snow removal equipment, hand tools, and power tools. Operates the grounds irrigation system.
  • Submits work orders for any surface repairs or maintenance and monitors follow up through to completion.
  • Responsible for snow removal (manually shoveling snow) from garages, sidewalks, and driveways. Also responsible for ice build-up prevention on public passage ways through the application of chemicals.
  • Collects and removes outside trash from garbage receptacles, debris accumulated during landscaping or any debris found on public outdoor areas. To be performed per grounds maintenance schedule.
  • Other grounds and landscaping duties as assigned.

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $36,181.92 to $54,272.89
Hourly Salary Range: $17.40 to $26.09
