THE POSITION

If you have a passion for working outdoors and using your hands, then the position of Maintenance Repairman 2 could be just what you are looking for! The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is searching for a motivated individual who takes pride in keeping our park facilities in excellent working condition. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will have an opportunity to showcase your trade skills by performing skilled journey-level work in a variety of the building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, and masonry trades in the construction, maintenance, and repair of park buildings, facilities, vehicles, and equipment. You will utilize both hand and power tools to carry out carpentry tasks for park facilities, including maintenance, renovation, and construction work. In addition, you will perform preventive maintenance and repair vehicles, equipment, and tools to ensure their safe and efficient operation.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (37.5-hour work week)
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • This position performs in a seven (7) day a week operation and may be scheduled to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:

  • This position will require possession of a valid driver's license.


Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
