The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The School of Nursing is looking to hire two Student Research Workers to join an interdisciplinary research team conducting a nursing workforce physiologic health and epigenetics study. The Student Research Workers will report directly to the PI and assist with project-related tasks including, but not limited to, participant and sample tracking, scheduling, vendor data coordination, survey data management, basic statistical analysis, and manuscript preparation. Team meetings will be held weekly via zoom with good communication with the PI. Periodic independent-guided work at Columbia University School of Nursing will be required with flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Data management (e.g., cleaning and coding survey datasets)
  • Study Participant Tracking, Scheduling, and Communication
  • Data collection scheduling and laboratory sample tracking
  • Statistical analyses (e.g., descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing)
  • Manuscript writing and formatting to meet journal requirements

This is a grant funded position. Continued employment is based on availability of funding.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires at least a bachelor's degree and current enrollment at Columbia University

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and experience.
  • Computer fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with R program.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Previous research experience is desired.
  • Statistical analysis and database management experience desired.
