The Wine Sales Manager will deliver the wine commercial strategy in assigned market providing account sales support and market brand education of MH Wine brands.

Wine Brand Presentation & Education

  • Understand wine brand strategy, marques, SKUs, programs - clear connectivity to the brand teams
  • Responsible for the communication & presentation of wine brands internally, at the distributor & the trade
  • Participate in distributor business reviews; train & educate distributor teams MHUSA Sales Teams, local distribution sales networks, and trade
  • Promote brand awareness for wine brands in assigned market

Wine Local Programming & Commercial Strategy

  • Implement wine commercial plans in market in partnership with market lead and market sales team
  • Work with distributor teams in the street to support the execution of the commercial plans
  • Collaborate with state lead, Field Trade, Trade Dev at Distributor to develop of local wine programming and find opportunities for additional local programs in market
  • Interact with local teams and distributor leads to implement wine programming at the market level
  • Host all consumer facing events, wine dinners, Master Classes etc. in market

Account Selling Support

  • Work with the market lead to establish wine Key Performance Indicators and sales priorities in the market
  • Responsible for direct interaction & coordination with local MH Market Teams, e.g., Market Lead, Distributor Leads, Account Leads, Field Trade Marketing
  • Support a dedicated Target Account List (TAL): TAL handled by Market Lead to ensure wine opportunistic viewpoint of additional placements, depletions, and velocity growth
  • Accountable for placements, display goals, wine listings, depletions, volume & velocity growth in TAL
  • Liaise with MH sales team and distribution sales network to achieve wine Key Performance Indicator in TAL
  • Provide input to Commercial Enablement team on forecasting and operations on wine sales and inventory

Profile

Education:

Bachelor's degree or relevant industry experience required


Professional Experience:

5+ years of professional experience in sales and marketing within wine and spirits


Practical/Technical Knowledge

  • Builds positive relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions.
  • Deep and extensive knowledge of MHUSA Wine portfolio and wine market
  • Extensive understanding of consumer expectations within the geography
  • Highly effective at navigating and influencing distributor expectations.
  • Experience of sales experience (bev alcohol preferred, not required)
  • Ability to apply knowledge of key business issues to sales pitches & strategy-setting
  • Refined communication & presentation skills, storytelling
  • Business development mentally
  • Excellent analytical ability; effectively interprets & applies syndicated data insights
  • WSET Certified (nice to have)
  • Must reside in the state of Massachusetts
