What You'll Be Doing:
In this role you'll lead all supply planning and buying activities for a specific business segment. You'll analyze and develop supply plans utilizing sales forecasts, current inventory, and historical consumption trends as well as provide feedback to Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) teams based on actual inventory movement. You'll regularly communicate with Company stakeholders on incoming product status updates, product transit challenges, and solution activities. You'll manage and execute buying activities relative to product types, including PO placement, supplier product returns, PO credits and replacement part management.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert of the overall supply planning function
  • Lead all supply planning and buying functions for a specific business segment
  • Manage and collaborate cross-functionally to carry out strategic business objectives relative to maintaining established inventory targets and improving supply chain efficiency
  • Continuously evaluate inventory status of owned SKU's to ensure buy-plan effectivity and accuracy
  • Develop accurate supply plans across multiple business channels that align with current sales forecasts to ensure supply chain efficiency
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams for consistent forecast inputs
  • Develop analyses that provide insight and visibility to the business' ability to meet sales demand
  • Communicate product order status to relevant business stakeholders
  • Actively participate in the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process
  • Stay up to date with best practice supply planning techniques to improve the planning process
  • Review historical demand and consumption trends to better understand ideal buying points, EoQ's, and supplier lead times.
  • Identify and track variances to drive process improvements
  • Execute purchase orders for suppliers in a specific business segment, including the return and credit associated with non-conforming goods
  • Maintain favorable inventory levels through planning and purchasing activities
Skills & Experience You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or other equivalent disciplines. ISM or APICS certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with buying, planning, and forecasting.
  • Thorough knowledge of supply chain processes related to procurement and inventory management.
  • Demonstrated experience with negotiation of contracts and pricing, knowledgeable on inventory control and stocking methods (Lean/Demand Flow experience desired), and capable of creating documentation procedures.
  • Proficiency using various ERP systems, planning software, and computer applications including Logility, Oracle, Excel, etc.
  • Proficiency creating and analyzing Excel spreadsheets, and complex algorithmic inventory models
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
Work Environment:
Work takes place in a standard office environment with exposure to a manufacturing environment and occasional travel.
