Job Description

REPORTS TO: Executive Vice President; Indirectly Reports to Supervisory Committee



FLSA: Exempt

SUMMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for implementation of Credit Union audit procedures. Independently reviews records and procedures of the Credit Union to insure internal control and compliance with all policies, procedures, and applicable accounting standards, laws, and regulations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE: 2-5 years of specific related experience necessary; college degree preferred.

OF TIME Major Duties and Responsibilities:

40% Develop and maintain a formal audit program, incorporating internal control checklists, audit activities, audit policies, and audit procedures. Implement changes and upgrades as directed by President and/or Supervisory Committee.

Review and appraise policies and procedures for safeguarding Credit Union assets. Recommend changes in procedures and controls that are indicated through normal audit reviews. Perform risk assessment and control analysis for all Credit Union departments.

30% Conduct regular audit procedures and activities for Credit Union branches and departments. Review random samples of all new loans for exceptions to policies and procedures. Examine information systems to ensure output is accurate and complete. Conduct investigations or special audits as requested by Management. Communicate weaknesses to Management/Supervisory Committee based on audits.

20% Serve as staff liaison with outside auditors, regulatory examiners, and Supervisory Committee.

5% Actively work to ensure Credit Union compliance with OFAC, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and U.S.A. Patriot Act by following all Credit Union policies and procedures and attending regular training as required.

5% Perform other related duties as assigned.

*May lift daily work boxes and coin bags up to approximately 50 lbs, when necessary. When lifting loads heavier than 50 pounds, use two or more people to lift the load.
