The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating invoice processing for WellMed's South Region. Responsibilities include staff development to ensure accurate invoice processing according to service level agreements and serving as a liaison between customers and multiple departments.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversees two accounts payable small teams responsible for high volume invoice processing of non-PO and PO invoices using a variety of systems
  • Mentors and develops AP staff
  • Works with other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of payables
  • Oversee the processing of payment requests in a timely and accurate manner ensuring adherence to SLA
  • Resolves payment and process escalations
  • Serves as a resource for staff regarding policies and procedures, GL coding validation and approval authorization
  • Coaching and counseling employees to perform work to the high standards expected within the department including performing excellent customer service
  • Vendor Reconciliations
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements
  • Metrics

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree equivalent work experience or (5+ years of experience beyond in lieu of degree)
  • 3+ years accounts payable management experience
  • Experience with Accounting ERP Systems
  • Immediate Excel
  • Proven problem solving/reconciliation
  • Proven excellent communication skills, oral and written


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Concur Invoice and People Soft Financial
  • Experience with Premier Connect, Ariba or Coupa experience
  • Healthcare experience
  • Proven ability to supervise remote employees
