Job Description

Veolia Water Technologies, Inc. Dayton is currently seeking a Wastewater Operator to work in the Cincinnati Ohio area.

The Wastewater Operation Technician will operate and maintain the wastewater treatment plant in compliance with the site indirect discharge permit, including lab analysis of process samples, minor and preventive maintenance of equipment, and complete other tasks as assigned by the Account Manager, or other Veolia Leadership personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operation of a physical/chemical WWTP for the removal of metals and solids. Operation includes pH adjustment, coagulation, flocculation, clarification, chemical feed systems, wastewater pumps, HMI, filter press operation, and sludge dryer.

  • Sample and analyze process and effluent samples from various locations within the wastewater plant to determine treatment steps to be taken, treatment efficiencies, and compliance.

  • Evaluate sample data in order to make process changes to improve treatment efficiency and maintain compliance.

  • Recognize and report operational or treatment issues to the Account Manager and client contact.

  • Housekeeping of the work area is required - Ensure the cleanliness of the equipment, plant, office, and lab.

  • Regular communication with the client and the Veolia account manager

  • The facility operates a minimum of 5 days/week and 8 hours/day. Some weekend operation is likely.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of previous wastewater operations experience (physical/chemical treatment system - preferred)

  • Strong mechanical ability and aptitude - preferred

  • General lab analysis experience - preferred

  • RCRA hazardous waste training and DOT hazardous waste training - preferred

  • Forklift license - preferred

  • Work to obtain a Wastewater License within 24 months of employment
