BNY Mellon Legal - Office of Regulatory Relations:

The Office of Regulatory Relations is responsible for developing and coordinating the company-wide strategy and approach to major regulatory supervisory matters. The function centrally manages BNY Mellon's relationships and interactions with supervisory regulators, partnering with all business and functions across the company.

Role description and opportunities:

Leads and manages interactions with prudential regulatory agencies for a subset of a broader portfolio, under direction of a Regulatory Relationship Manager who oversees the full portfolio. Serves as central point of contact for regulators and BNY Mellon executives.

For the broader portfolio, supports the end-to-end processes for regulatory exams, requests, and meetings through project management and oversees overall meeting logistics. Maintains regular contact with internal partners and coordinates/reports on project progress and accomplishments.

Provides direction and drives change in support of firm's regulatory strategy.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

This role will support U.S. regulatory interactions related to BNY Mellon's various businesses and functions:

  • Oversees and/or supports regulatory engagements and exams, enlisting support from peers and partners across BNY Mellon
  • Drives implementation of best practices
  • Leads internal stakeholders in delivering timely and effective responses and presentations
  • Manages and oversees end-to-end project management activities such as project reporting, project planning, issue/risk identification and tracking, scope management, estimation, client management, relationship management and other project documentation preparation for projects of medium to high complexity
  • Proactively identifies obstacles and recommends solutions.
  • Reports and escalates progress/issues to management, as needed
  • Prepares/trains employees for effective regulatory interaction

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of work experience required
  • 10-12 years of work experience
  • Excellent organizational and communications (written and verbal) skills
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry
  • Previous experience interacting with financial regulatory agencies preferred
  • Previous project or relationship management experience preferred
  • Executive presence and grace under pressure
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously and within tight deadlines

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $100,000 and $215,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
