What you will do:

* Manage the safe operability of the Sulfuric Acid Operations, and Shipping and Locomotive Departments at Nutrien White Springs, as well as the Lake City Terminal

* Responsibilities encompass the safe operation, maintenance and protection of physical facilities and equipment used to safely produce sulfuric acid in addition to loading and shipping high quality fertilizers and animal nutrients

* Manage Operation of the Sulfuric Plants require constant emission monitoring per EPA Title V requirements in addition to annual stack test compliance

* Responsible to maintain and keep current the certifications for the Swift Creek Chemical truck and rail scales and the SRC rail Scales

* Conduct operations within the Agreement between Nutrien White Springs and the ICWU Local 784C.

* Effectively plan, organize, direct and control plant activities to achieve annual production volumes and plant recoveries/ efficiencies.

* Evaluate, train and develop direct reports and their subordinates to enhance job performance and achieve plant objectives

* Ensure compliance with and are not exclusive to PSM( Process Safety Management), RMP (Risk Management Program), OSHA, FDA, SF/SF (Safe Feed/Safe Food), HACCP ( Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), EPA, FLDEP, DOT, FRA, and AAR regulatory requirements/ best practices and other related laws, regulations, statues and codes

* Maintain and develop current technical, process, procedural and other job knowledge to efficiently operate assigned areas.

* Develop operating budgets for both the Sulfuric and Shipping Departments. Optimize utilization of manpower resources, raw materials, operating supplies and contract services to achieve annual budget. It is expected that the Superintendent will conduct weekly costs reviews to understand and manage controllable spend.

* Regularly inspect plants to detect and eliminate safety, environmental, fire, security and health hazards

* Assist in the formulation of emergency response and recovery plans for assigned areas.

* This position will have (3) direct salary reports, (4) Indirect salary and (34) hourly personnel

What you will bring:

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of chemical plant experience required
  • Have a minimum of 5+ years in a supervisory or leadership role with direct reports.
  • Have excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Skills in SAP a plus
