Job Summary

UT Southwestern is looking to hire a Sr. Disaster Recovery Analyst in their Information Security department. Serves as a key member of the Disaster Recovery Team to promote and implement IT disaster recovery best practices in a decentralized clinical and academic environment while providing expertise in disaster recovery concepts, plan development, validation, and testing of critical systems.

Experience and Education

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, and four (4) years progressively responsible information systems disaster recovery experience required. Additional years of directly related information systems disaster recovery experience may be accepted on a year for year basis in lieu of stated degree requirement. Must have previous experience utilizing Disaster Recovery Planning software and tools. Experience with ITIL Problem Management and Root Cause Analysis preferred. Related industry certifications or memberships are a plus.

Job Duties:

* Coordinates with Information Resources and various business groups across campus to identify critical systems and dependencies, the potential vulnerabilities and risks that could result in catastrophic impact, and the development of effective mitigation strategies in the form of high availability/fault tolerant solutions, Information System Contingency Plans (ISCP) and validation testing.

* Works closely with the Disaster Recovery Manager in maintaining all disaster recovery data within a centralized disaster recovery tool.

* Reviews requests regarding potential incoming systems to determine tier category and associated disaster recovery requirements.

* Coordinates ISCP and tier reviews on a regular basis. Tracks progress, follow-up activities and completion.

* Schedules and coordinates disaster recovery testing of critical systems. Documents results, recovery time capability, issues and resolutions through post-testing analysis.

* Reports to the Disaster Recovery Manager and serves as back-up during catastrophic disaster recovery or business continuity events.

* Performs other duties as assigned.
