This opportunity is in the Claims Department.

Our Claims department oversees both high-exposure workers' compensation and liability claims. As an unbundled carrier, we work actively with third-party administrators (TPAs) and self-administered accounts to assist in guiding claims to a successful resolution. As an excess carrier, the catastrophic claims we handle keep our group challenged, but the uniqueness provides plenty of growth opportunities.

Role Description:

In the role of Claims Analyst you will be responsible for handling assigned claims from initial assignment to closure, as well as provide assistance in various administrative functions associated with the Excess Workers' Compensation (WC) Line of Business.

Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Claims Analyst will include:

  • Handling lower exposure Excess WC payout type claims
  • Establishing and updating reserve based on department procedures
  • Exploring settlement opportunities within established level of authority, working with manager on settlements beyond authority limits
  • Directing and advising Third Party Administrator (TPA) as to desired claims handling, maintain open communication with TPA for claim details
  • Processing reimbursement and vendor check requests on assigned files in accordance with department procedures and authority levels

Qualifications:
Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university required

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Workers' Compensation claims adjusting with insurance carrier or TPA required
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook applications

Preferred:

  • Experience adjusting WC claims in multiple jurisdictions a plus

It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
