The AES Clean Energy Finance team is looking for an upbeat Risk and Insurance Analyst who will report directly to the Senior Manager of Insurance and will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Company's business insurance programs, including the management of policies, claims, contracts, etc.

MainResponsibilities

  • Maintain continuous communication with the different AES CE departments (Finance, Operations, HR, Purchasing, Security, Commercial, Accounting, etc.), to ensure compliance with the Risk and Insurance Management responsibilities, having for this a very good relationship and normal ability to acquire teamwork.
  • Gather and analyze data for policy renewals, engaging with different groups within AES.
  • Support development, legal, construction and operations activities from an insurance perspective; handling contractual risk, developing, and helping to implement insurance programs that meet the requirements, budgets, and goals of the business.
  • Support insurance claim processes, investigation, development, adjustment, and settlement.
  • Develop analytical insights and methodologies to support strategic decisions in the department: claims, budget, premium outlooks, etc.
  • Remain current on issues and new products developed in the insurance/risk management/claims industry to ensure standard processes.
  • Review relevant information to assist in negotiating contracts with different collaborators.
  • Ensure annual compliance with lender and other requirements concerning insurance programs.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of AES Clean Energy business to craft solutions or offer constructive consultative advice.
  • Visit project sites when required to aid with risk management understanding and strategy.
  • Supervise the performance of brokers and service providers, recommend, and implement any required changes.
  • Participate in industry associations and organizations.
  • Various other business insurance-related duties.

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Between 2 and 3 years of experience in General Management, Risk-Insurance Management or any other meaningful experience, preferably in the energy sector.
  • Knowledge of commercial insurance concepts.
  • Business and financial savvy with the ability to support a high-performance organization that will deliver operational excellence.
  • General understanding of energy financing structures.
  • Financial competence with critical thinking and implementation effectively.
  • Strong skills for running and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to summarize key points and define actionable items.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office applications and software.
  • Diligent, meticulous, and dynamic. Able to self-organize priorities.
  • Ability to travel at least 5-10% of the time.
  • Teammate.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in management, finance, engineering, economics, or business, however, experience can be considered.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $65,000 and $80,750/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
