Position Summary and Responsibilities:

The primary purpose of this position is to create and maintain production schedules that effectively balance customer demand, resource availability, and operational efficiency. You will play a crucial role in coordinating production activities to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products while optimizing utilization of equipment, materials, and manpower.

  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity. Coordinate with various departments, including production, procurement, and logistics, to sequence production orders and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Works with the Production Manager to provide timely scheduling of manufacturing batch orders to the production floor, to achieve production goals and customer deliver targets.
  • Create and deliver daily, weekly production schedule, by processing line and shift to meet customer and order demand.
  • Determine product schedule sequencing to ensure product compatibility, quality and maximize efficiency in production.
  • Balance incoming orders with current capacity and evaluate backlog when needed.
  • Assist with production entries when needed.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
  • Always follow the USDA, HACCP, SSOP, food and employee safety policies, rules and regulations.
  • Always follow OSHA and the Ben E. Keith employee safety policy, rules and regulations such as Lock Out Tag Out.
  • Wear required protective and food safety equipment at all times while in the production area.
  • As production demand varies, this role is expected to have hour and day flexibility.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • 2-3 years in production scheduling.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiar with manufacturing scheduling specifically in batch making.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Knowledge of Batch Manufacturing is required.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, quality controls, product compatibilities.
  • Basic knowledge of meat a plus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with pallet jack, forklift, or other industrial vehicles.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 80 lbs
  • Must be able to stand on your feet all day and work in a cold (32-40) environment.
