Job Description

Objective: Performs a variety of EHS compliance related assignments utilizing a wide range of knowledge. Works at an advanced technical level involving planning, development, process/procedure implementation, and compliance management. Reviews progress and evaluates results of multiple projects across various disciplines.

Description: Partners with site management in the areas of environmental, health, safety and risk management to lead the EHS program/culture through proactive continuous improvement activities. Trains team to proactively promote well-being of employees and communities where we work. Takes a leading position in activities involved with internal and external customers to include regulatory agencies. Develops, implements, and improves environmental, health and safety programs based on regulations, corporate standards, and best practices for location. Ensures appropriate EHS standards and inspections are implemented and prepares or reviews reports to identify opportunities for improvement. Insures accuracy of the iAuditor Environmental, Health and Safety Portal and makes sure that all safety issues reported are handled timely and with accuracy. Leads supervision to complete, thorough and timely incident investigation and implementation of corrective action activities. Manages the workers compensation and claims management, including coordinating return to work activities and claim resolution. Ensures well-being of employees through awareness and emergency preparedness. Provides coaching, useful feedback, and direction to associates. Implements systems for the monitoring of workplace safety risks and environmental impact through six sigma analysis of processes, materials, equipment and the work habits of employees. Influences and persuades to bring about process and technical improvements. Identifies potential or actual risk through audits or inspections and implements corrective actions. Manages sustainability efforts to minimize hazardous/non-hazardous waste, water emissions, air emissions, energy consumption, and other related environmental compliance activities. Manages compliance with government regulations, permitting, training, reporting, and corporate policies/procedures for assigned location. Acts as a backup liaison in some building services/issues with facilities, security and other organizations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering with an emphasis in occupational health and safety and/or environmental engineering or equivalent related experience. 3+ years.
