Job Responsibilities:

The Manager, Communication and Data Management will develop and maintain all professional communications, manage all data, and oversee data management and technology tools for the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The Manager will develop communication strategies and execute various communication initiatives with internal and external audiences to enhance communication between the Commission on Dental Accreditation and its broad communities of interest. The Manager will work collaboratively with other CODA managers and staff to ensure consistent and accurate messaging in CODA presentations, on the Commission's electronic platforms including the Commission's website, and through internal and external communications to a variety of audiences. The Manager will also develop, and provide editorial review and support for written materials produced by the Commission (e.g., Standards, Self-Study Guides, Guidelines, newsletter, templates, etc.), ensuring a consistent style and formatting of communications across all CODA areas and documents. The Manager will develop and assist with work processes and technology tools to ensure appropriate data management and consistency in the Commission's messaging to its various audiences. The Manager will analyze data and develop strategies to address communication needs for the Commission. This individual has access to protected health information (PHI) in Commission self-studies and progress reports and is therefore required to be trained annually in the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance policies and procedures

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Operations, Data Management/Communications, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of writing, editing, managing communication with emphasis on working developing content for a diverse audience; or 7 of years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience developing business protocols to streamline work processes and ensure consistent messaging
  • Experience conducting research and drafting reports
  • Excellent attention to detail, able to work independently, prioritize workload, and manage several projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem solving, organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of emerging digital technologies and best practices in communication and electronic process management
  • Knowledge of communication strategies and use of technology, especially document retention systems
  • Ability to work under varied deadlines and develop accurate, complete, and professional communications and business process strategies that produce a clear and positive message for the Commission
  • Able to write technology plans and protocols
  • Able to work and collaborate with diverse groups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), databases, SharePoint, Websites, Learning Management Systems, and other web-based document retention and meeting platforms
  • Some evening work as needed to support meetings

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working as an administrator with digital systems including databases and learning management systems
  • Ability to write for the web
  • Knowledge of higher education, specialized accreditation, and the profession of dentistry
  • Previous association experience, preferably in accreditation
  • Demonstrated ability to research, develop, implement and manage communication plans
  • Ability to develop business protocols and technology strategies to streamline work processes to enhance communication between organizations and stakeholders and technology use within organizations
