Join our team as a Director of Marketing!

This is a flexible hybrid role out of Maple Plain, MN.

As Director of Marketing you will drive pipeline acceleration strategies, moving newly acquired leads and current customers alike through the customer journey funnel resulting in demand conversions. You will be responsible for orchestrating multi-channel campaign activities incorporating email marketing, events, experiences, and more while working in collaboration with brand, content, and digital teams to bring them to life. The ideal candidate is a strategic proactive problem solver, seeks data to guide their direction, and whose collaboration style allows for partnership across the marketing, sales, and product teams.

You will:

  • Design and execute end-to-end, integrated campaigns using best-in-class marketing tactics to drive engagement, lead generation, demand, and qualified pipeline across all stages of the customer journey.
  • Drive demand through integrated marketing efforts, creating and executing programs that initiate interactions with our target personas to inform and influence their buying decisions.
  • Define a strategy and direction for pipeline growth which focuses on engaging the database and accelerating leads through the funnel.
  • Provide cross-functional leadership to drive demand generation and customer journey initiatives. Collaborate and develop alignment with marketing, sales, and product to agree on priorities, understand challenges, and leverage opportunities.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing marketing team, setting clear strategic priorities and goals to drive business growth.
  • Build impactful nurture programs that align with the customer journey to move leads down the funnel, improve conversion rates from leads to opportunities, and influence pipeline.
  • Design, implement, and optimize account based marketing strategies that drive customer engagement and revenue growth
  • Lead the strategy and development of virtual and in-person events designed to build the Protolabs brand, educate and engage leads and customers alike, generate MQLs, and influence pipeline.
  • Align the project management function to focus on marketing priorities, effectively communicate across the marketing team, sharing project updates, timelines, processes, and results.
  • Leverage data to understand performance, trends, issues, and solutions, translating the learnings into actionable changes for the broader team.
  • Spearhead a culture of experimentation among the marketing team looking for opportunities for testing, learning, and pivoting in our programs to drive performance.
  • Partner with marketing leadership to define annual marketing plans and budget; turning business goals and priorities into quarterly and annual marketing plans to drive demand and increase brand awareness and thought leadership in the market.
  • Evaluate marketing technology and vendors to support the work of the marketing team, owning the relationship and managing the budget.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

You have:

  • A four year degree in Marketing, Business, or related
  • 10+ years of experience in demand generation with B2B organizations, with 5+ years leading a team
  • Master at developing, executing, and measuring innovative and results-focused demand programs and campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze campaign and program ROI and engagement.
  • Deep understanding of optimization requirements at the different stages of the funnel.
  • Proven experience in managing the creation of marketing materials.
  • Experience influencing and communicating product offers to customers, prospects, and sales demonstrated by excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience leading, managing, and growing a team of marketing professionals.
  • Strong project management skills and experience with superb attention to detail.
  • Well-rounded knowledge and experience with a variety of marketing technology such as marketing automation, CRM, intent-based tools, and more

Physical Demands:

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear. Work Environment:

Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. However, there may be job duties that require the employee to spend time in the manufacturing areas exposed to machinery and noise; eye protection occasionally required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
