Brown and Caldwell is seeking a self-motivated engineer with a background in wastewater process engineering, design and operations. Detailed Description:

  • Work closely with project managers and other team members to execute work involving wastewater process engineering planning and design.
  • Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design-related activities.
  • Prepare calculations, technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents.
  • Perform biological process modeling using simulator software.
  • Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications as part of engineering services during construction.
  • Conduct field work and provide operational consulting services.
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams, including other disciplines and practices.
  • Communicate technical concepts through technical reports and presentations.
  • Prepare and make presentations for professional meetings with clients and technical teams
  • Successfully manage and deliver assignments on time and on budget.

Typical projects could involve:

  • Wastewater treatment process optimization as well as planning, design, and construction observation
  • Biosolids and residuals treatment and dewatering
  • Alternative energy power sources and generation

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering; M.S. preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience. 10+ years of experience in municipal engineering and consulting preferred
  • Motivated, results-oriented, and able to work to meet deadlines.
  • Desire to work on a variety of projects to offer consulting expertise.
  • Ability to obtain Washington PE within 6 months of start date.
  • Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and on large, coordinated teams.
  • Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork at various sites.
  • Knowledge of standard software, including MS Office, Outlook, MathCAD, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong aptitude for researching and solving technical problems.
  • Experience with laboratory and pilot scale testing preferred.
  • Knowledge of process simulator software packages like BioWin or SUMO preferred.

Salary:

Location B: $103,000- 141,000
