Snowflake is seeking an exceptional Director of Product Design to lead Snowflake's Marketplace and Growth design efforts. As a key member of the design leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in defining our design strategy, driving innovation, and championing a user-centric approach to product development. Drawing inspiration from a variety of sources, you will bring a wealth of experience in designing for a variety of product tools and crafting scalable design solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in design leadership roles, with a passion for diving deep into the details of the work.

AS A DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT DESIGN AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:
  • Provide visionary leadership to the product design team, setting clear goals, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence, and inspiring team members to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation.

  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership, product management, and engineering teams to define the product design strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs.

  • Lead by example in advocating for a user-centric approach to product design, leveraging qualitative and quantitative insights to inform design decisions and drive continuous improvement.

  • Invest in the growth and development of the design team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to help team members reach their full potential.

  • Maintain rigorous standards of design quality and integrity, conducting regular design reviews, usability testing, and audits to ensure adherence to best practices and standards.

  • Build and manage multiple teams across multiple surfaces ensuring our products and features are valuable for customers, easy to use, and of the highest level of craft and execution.

  • Build and manage a talented, diverse, inclusive team of product designers and leaders that consistently delivers on projects and is well-balanced across a range of design skill sets

  • Oversee multiple projects and scale design resources accordingly, ensuring deadlines are met, your org is effective, and team members are set up for success by setting clear and measurable goals

OUR IDEAL DIRECTOR of PRODUCT DESIGN WILL HAVE:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in software product design

  • At least 8+ years of leadership experience managing design teams, including hiring and developing senior managers and individual contributors with a proven ability to inspire, mentor, and develop talent.

  • Experience scaling teams in fast-paced, dynamic environments

  • Expertise in designing complex data-driven applications, with a strong understanding of user workflows and information architecture.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to a diverse set of stakeholders

  • A passion for staying abreast of emerging design trends, technologies, and best practices, with a relentless drive for excellence and continuous improvement.

  • You have an eye for talent with an extensive network of top designer practitioners, you know what great looks like to help build out the Snowflake Design team.

  • Experience growing a strategic design practice within design teams

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $218,000 - $325,500.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off; parental leave; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
