WAGES AND BENEFITS

A Typical Day in the Life...

A typical day as MACC's Grant Billing Specialist provides an opportunity to support invoicing, grant/contract tracking, collections, and audits for the member agencies assigned to the incumbent's team. Responsibilities will include the following:

Invoicing

  • Understanding assigned grants/contracts and what expenses are allowable for each one.
  • Reviewing tracking workbooks for each grant/contract and ensuring accuracy.
  • Meeting with assigned members to review workbooks before billing funder.
  • Submitting invoices to funders on behalf of members on a timely basis.
  • Maintaining a folder of billing support as necessary.
  • Reviewing AR aging for assigned members and grants/contracts and providing follow-up as necessary.

Audit

  • Reviewing and preparing work papers for annual audits and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Coordinating with funders when desk audits arise.
  • Supporting the preparation of financial support for desk audits.

Who You Are

  • You have at least one year of experience working in a position that worked directly with building external party relationships (customers, vendors, etc.).
  • Experience with multiple funding software (eGrants, EGMS, JustGrants, etc.) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with accounting software, Microsoft Business Central, is preferred.
  • You possess excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
  • You have strong Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with other Microsoft office products.
  • You are highly attentive to detail.
  • You have the ability to analyze and reconcile financial information.
  • You have the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, with interruptions, simultaneously and accurately.
  • You possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • You have the ability to work independently and use good judgment.
  • You have the ability to work effectively with different cultures, groups, and languages.
  • You have the ability to work additional hours, including weekends, as necessary.
  • You have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet MACC's driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
