As a Shop Technician, you will

1)perform the required service and maintenance on fire extinguishers.

2) responsible for the organization, operation, and cleanliness of area of work.

3)This is a fixed location position with no travel required. Specific Responsibilities:

4) Perform required service and maintenance on fire extinguishers, including recharging, testing, completing six- and twelve-year maintenance work

5) Accurately complete required reports and paperwork, inspection tags, etc. required for extinguisher service and maintenance records

6) Perform routine/preventative maintenance on extinguisher shop test equipment

7) Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while at work

8)Complete required employment paperwork in a timely and professional manner (e.g., timecard)

9) Participate in periodic Johnson Controls business meetings and contribute to the growth and sustainability of Johnson Controls

10) Ability to operate hand tools and lift/carry 50lbs.

10) Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Position Requirements to ensure continued personal and professional growth within Johnson Controls Fire Protection.

12) Effective written and verbal communication skills

13) Repetitive motions including lifting, sliding and general production of fire extinguishers

14) utilize all minimum PPE required by Johnson Controls and specialized PPE as required for specific working situations.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience not required.

  • Ability to operate hand tools and lift and carry 50lbs.

  • Ability to pass required licensing test (on job training provided)

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to pass a drug test, background check, and BMV check.

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must have a clean driving record.

  • Driver's License (Required)

  • Repetitive motions including lifting, sliding and general production of fire extinguishers.
