Job Title: Oil and Energy RFQ & Pricing Lead
Job Location: Houston, Texas


We have an exciting opportunity for an Oil and Energy RFQ & Pricing Lead to oversee the procurement, pricing, and Air RFQ commercial submissions for the O&E department, and support spot quotes for the O&E Pricing teams. This position will be based at our Houston, TX location.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure RFQs they lead are completed accurately, on time.
  • Collaborate effectively with global counterparts and stakeholders
  • Improve the overall team hit rate and drive product competency development
  • With the support of the SAM oversee the entire commercial solution process for Tenders and for Spot Quotes when designated
  • Head the evaluation of scope of work, contract terms and conditions, along with associated administrative tasks, in partnership with the sales team
  • Take charge of planning and developing successful commercial and technical strategies in conjunction with the sales teams and management within the organization
  • Interact and gather pricing from multiple product teams or external vendors, including but not limited to Air Freight, Air Charters, domestic trucking and other associated charges in accordance with the defined scope of work
  • Create a comparative cost analysis, conduct market research and competition analysis, and generate revenue simulations to present to internal stake holders and management
  • Recognize and evaluate potential commercial, legal, and technical risk. Develop strategies to mitigate these identified risks
  • Engage in negotiations with subcontractors and streamline the procurement process for optimal results
  • Where needed, provide assistance to overseas offices in the planning and execution of tenders and inquiries
  • Establish and oversee a commercial matrix consisting of standard tariffs and rates where possible
  • Take the lead in driving process improvements that increase automation, productivity and reduce errors
  • Offer Functional guidance, advice and/or training to team members with less experience
  • Prioritization and Sanity checks for bids

Skills / Requirements:

  • Preferably 7-10 years of experience in the International Freight Forwarding and Project Logistics industry
  • A robust background in commercial and operational aspects
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel, data analysis and Microsoft 365 suite of services is essential
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills is necessary to manage multiple deadlines or bids simultaneously
  • Extensive knowledge of Air freight and Distribution, and Sea freight
  • Good communication skills is important to effectively engage with people from different countries
  • Capability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Possessing mature judgment and decision-making skills
  • The ability to adapt quickly to changing demands (RFQ volume, customer expectations, etc.)
  • Having a strong sense of urgency and being able to work efficiently under pressure
