Pay Rate: $27.25/hour

Do you have a joy for diligently cleaning and preparing a neat environment for our visitors? The Hilton Waikiki Beach is looking for a Full-Time Housekeeping Houseperson. A Houseperson is responsible creating 100% guest satisfaction for guests for cleaning and maintaining designated areas of the hotel and responding to guest requests in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Flexible scheduling availability is a must.

Essential Skills:

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Must be able to perform job functions with minimal supervision.

Language Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clean designated areas including, but not limited to, restrooms, public areas, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms
  • Perform tasks including, but not limited to, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, shampooing carpets, washing windows, cleaning/waxing floors, removing and disposing of trash and emptying ashtrays
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms, as needed
  • Stock and maintain supplies including but not limited to guestroom linens, amenities, etc. for room attendant use on each guest floor.
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks and special projects (for example: mattress flipping, furniture moves, etc.), as needed
  • Deliver guest requests and assist in cleaning guest rooms, as needed
  • Greet guests in a friendly manner
  • Report maintenance deficiencies and items in need of repair
  • Enter status of cleaning on assignment sheets.
  • Complete checklist to report cleanliness and condition of each assigned area.
  • Complete required Housekeeping paper work.
  • Respond promptly to requests from guests, housekeeping office and supervisors and perform accordingly
  • Perform any emergency clean up in all areas on property.
  • Perform cleaning with cleaning machines including floor scrubber, carpet extractor, heavy duty vacuum cleaner, Wet-Vac etc.
  • Perform duties in laundry incl. wash, dry, fold linens, sorting soiled linen come down from linen chute, pushing and pulling linen bins from laundry to loading area, distributing clean linens from laundry cart to floor linen carts according to the linen request list.
  • Enter guest rooms following procedures for gaining access and ensuring vacancy before entering.
  • Follow management's instruction in organizing and monitoring all storage areas.
  • Assist in monthly linen inventory.
  • Deliver merchandise to designated storage areas.
  • Maintain compliance with all company and brand policies and procedures.
  • Perform any duties instructed by management and desk clerks.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by Managers.
  • Assist room attendants on assigned floors to strip room bedding, throw out trash, etc.
  • Ensure linen closets on assigned floors have all necessary items for stocking of room attendant cart.
  • Remove trash to loading dock/dumpster and remove trash and linen from cleaning carts.
  • Clean elevator cars and tracks
  • Deliver miscellaneous goods and supplies to guest rooms and deliver linen and supplies to guest floors.
  • Make up and deliver roll-away beds.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills and executing special guest requests.
  • Shampoo carpets as requested and/or scheduled by management.
  • Special cleaning projects as assigned.

Education
High School (preferred)

Experience
1 - 2 years: Hotel housekeeping experience preferred (preferred)
1 - 2 years: Professional Cleaning experience desired, preferably in hotels Relevant military experience in a comparable capacity. (preferred)
