Job Description

Reporting to Audiovisual Production Technician 3 within the College of Medicine (COM), the Audiovisual Production Technician 1 provides support for daily site operations across IHSC and other COM facilities; Provides onsite event, instructional, and classroom AV support to faculty, staff, learners, and external customers within 35+ classrooms, 25+ conference rooms, and event spaces; Provides support services for instructional activities, classroom instruction, capture and delivery of instruction, interactivity (web, phone, other AV conferencing), and delivery of e-learning systems; Assists in the creation and distribution of up-to-date reference information and accessible documentation for self-serve use of AV instructional technology; Manages AV and technical setups for events, meetings, and classes, including equipment like digital projectors, laptops, and PCs; Troubleshoots performance and access issues and escalates to IT staff and/or other appropriate team(s) when necessary; Trains and provides oversight of student employees who assist with AV, events, and technical support; Consults with event planning coordinators and clients on AV needs and options to best achieve desired results; Provides AV support during morning/daytime/evening meetings/events; weekend AV support may be requested; Assists with activities related to occupant support services, building operations, project support, and day-to-day operations, including managing extensive onsite AV inventory requiring regular auditing, palletizing, and racking; Maintains clean and organized site storage spaces; Assembles, delivers, and installs AV equipment as needed; Provides general support as directed in the event of facility related emergencies such as broken water pipes, power outages, etc.; Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.

The COM Office of Facilities Planning and Space Management is responsible for the 24/7 operation of classroom, office, laboratory/teaching laboratory, and amenity spaces. The Audiovisual Production Technician 1 frequently interfaces with customers and has a goal to provide exemplary customer service and provide a positive impact on faculty, staff, learners, external customers, and service partners by enhancing the quality of operations, services, and programs.
