Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Forklift Mechanic/Millwright for our Camas, Washington location, starting pay is $39.66. As a Millwright you will be part of a team of other skilled mechanics and will adopt our, "flow to the work" practices that have been established by Georgia-Pacific.


What You Will Do

    • Perform routine, emergency and preventative maintenance of forklifts.
    • Interpret manufacturer's technical manuals to perform the necessary maintenance and repairs needed
    • Troubleshoot forklift problems to include brake, electrical and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions
    • Able to diagnose and repair mast and attachment components
    • Ability to work on LP, gas and diesel systems.
    • Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or order replacement parts for major repairs
    • Reassemble forklifts and make all necessary adjustments for effective and safe operation
    • Perform safety inspection of forklifts prior to being released back to the work floor
    • Complete legible service documents and logs for preventative maintenance tasks
    • Learn new technical information and techniques to stay current with changing technology
    • Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours/day in a loud/noisy, hot, humid, dusty, greasy, and high-volume environment
    • Support our safe working environment by maintaining strict adherence to safety rules and regulations and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

    • Associate Degree in Automotive Technology, Diesel/Heavy Equipment Technology or related field required
    • 2 years or more of experience in machinery diagnostics, hydraulics, electrical systems 6V -96V, fuel systems (carbureted, propane, injected) brake systems & basic tire repair
    • Experience conducting preventative and corrective maintenance of mobile equipment
    • Proficient computer skills required to generate, distribute and maintain maintenance records
    • Experience in 2 or more trades such as industrial maintenance (bearings set-up, laser alignment, pump rebuilds, mounting and un-mounting, or other), welding, carpentry, machining, pipefitting, etc.

What Will Put You Ahead

    • Experience with Reliability/Precision maintenance
    • Experience with mobile cranes, electric vehicles, scissor & boom lifts.
    • Ability to read wiring/hydraulic schematics
