Job Description

Printpack is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Maintenance Assistant position. This position is in Elgin, IL and reports to the Maintenance Manager.This is a 1st Shift (7:00 am - 3:00 pm, M-F) position.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Repair minor facility issues.

  • Operate fork truck / Scissor lift / Floor scrubber.

  • Painting / cleaning / minor electrical work.

  • Assist landscaping tasks and snow removal as required.

  • Adhere to corporate safety and sanitation policies.

  • Perform miscellaneous janitorial duties as directed.

  • General plant upkeep.

  • Help manage storeroom activities, act as back-up to Stockroom Attendant.

  • Receive inbound items as a stockroom attendant backup.

  • Create requisitions as needed.

  • Manage all inventory of janitorial supplies.

  • This candidate may participate in the Printpack Maintenance Apprentice Program.

  • Able to perform LOTO and manage safety inventories.

Minimum Experience:

  • Computer literate. Must know Word and Excel.

  • Must have high school level reading and writing skills.

  • Must have good attendance.

  • Minor mechanical abilities.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Strong team skills.

  • Safety oriented.

  • Ability to calculate measurement for general work requirements.
